Equi-base lists what horses, jockeys and trainers are running where, is there a site that lists what jockeys are on an injury list or out for various reasons. I noticed that Prado and Cornelio both were not riding on Sat. but couldn't find where they were. Can you help me?

Glad to know I wasn't the only one to notice that Edgar Prado wasn't at Gulfstream this weekend (nor any other tracks I could find). I don't know where CV is but Prado went home to Peru for the weekend.

I don't know if there is a site that lists when jockeys are out. I have set up Google Alerts on different jockeys, trainers, and horses that I'm interested in. So, when a new story shows up on the web mentioning one of the foregoing, it automatically goes to my e-mail. Usually, if a jockey is not riding at his usual track he's at another track for a stakes race and that would come up in a Google Alert as would any injuries.

Here's where I found the mention about Prado going home this weekend:

Prado Heads Home to Peru, Will Return Next Week

Jockey Edgar Prado, last year's Eclipse Award winner, will be off this weekend to his native Peru for a memorial service for his late mother Zenaida, who died from cancer in 2006, a few months before her son's crowning achievement, winning the Kentucky Derby (G1) aboard Barbaro.

"I checked with all my customers and everyone says there's no problem," said Prado. "It will be for three days and I'm looking forward to being with my family."

Prado endured a roller-coaster year in 2006, starting with the effort to bring his mother to the United States for treatment that was caught up in red tape, and ultimately arrived too late.

Weeks later, Prado teamed with Lael Stable's Barbaro for stirring victories in the Florida Derby (G1) and Kentucky Derby (G1).

"It is amazing how much time has gone by already," said Prado. "You've got to take the time for these things. There's nothing more important than family in life."
