Its In Northern Wisconsin
Its a 45 min. drive from where I live I think and its only $45 for 5 hours! (The lessons I currently take in town are $25 for a half hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I want to go to this place for a day lesson (5 hours) From what I can tell it looks good. It starts with caring for the horse (mostly basic stuff: safety tacking up, feeding, grooming and managment ). They teach English (which I do) and Western. Teaches from beginner to more advanced from age 7 and up. What do you think about this and in your opinion would you go to this place? Heres the web site you can read more: http://www.gnaco.com/kula/day_camp.php OMG you seriously think I would be riding for 5 hours!!!!!!!!! Did you even go to the website and read about it??! I would be doing a lot of other stuff that has to do with hourse its not just ONE lesson! Yeah, It is also a summer camp thing too. As I said above I know I won't be riding for 5 full hours! |

It's an interesting take on giving lessons to students. It sounds more like a camp though than an actual lesson stable. It does teach you stable management which is nice, although working with horses for 5 hours when you're not used to it can be very exhausting. It sounds rewarding though. Give it try, and if you like it sign up for weekly lessons.

seems fine to me. if you haven't already done this, i would make sure to take a tour of the place before you spend you money there. get to know the trainers, owner, see what the facility is like, see if the horses are like, etc. just so that you don;t waste your money on a crappy place!

k, for starters ya its camp. You will be riding for maybe half an hour. That means when you get there at 10 youre gonna pet the horse for 1/2 hr then youre gonna brush for 1.5 hrs then you are going to ride for 1/2 hr then you will eat for 1/2 hr. Then you will go back and learn stuff like parts or tack, horse anatomy, how to wrap, proper lunging, maybe even some human jumping. Basically, its baby sitting. At least at my place we do 5hr day camps like this one and our day goes something like above. No, you will not be on a horse for 5hrs, sorry.

yes I do believe this would be a camp style day. You probably would learn about ground work for several hours before you would ever get on the horse. It could be useful for you, any learning is useful. I have a riding academy and we do this twice a year, a day of learning or brushing up. Then we have scheduled hourly lessons, and week end trail rides. But for the money I'd check it out!
